Good/Bad?

I feel one of the tragedies of not having a significant other is the fact there's no one there to share your moments of bliss. You can tell your sibling or your best friend, about your great yearly review at work or the raise you've anxiously waited for and they will say ''good for you'' or ''that's nice'', but it doesn;t really mean much to them.If you are lucky enough to have that person who is the extention of you, then you have someone who feels your joys,as well as your heartache large or small. They are there to celebrate all your good moments and to comfort you when things go bad. They feel what you feel and vice versa, you are one.
I suppose being single has it's good points too.One being there are no arguments, but that means there's no making up either the best part of any argument. There's not having to cook those three meals a day,but then there's the eating your meals alone, which is never pleasant. There's having the bed all to one's self, sleeping in the middle. But then there's nobody to cuddle with in the night or on cold mornings. The difference I find I miss the most is having someone to sit with at night while watching TV and being able to comment about something you see or to laugh with during a funny show. So,is being single really such a good thing after all....well I guess it all depends on who you're asking and when.If I were ask today I'd answer no, but if I were asked tomorrow...........

Paris..

My last two days in France were spent in Paris. It's a wonderful city and
offers so many amazing sights to see.It seems everyone goes to Paris to see the Effiel Tower, but my favorite was The Arc de Triomphe,it was so magnificent, and at the top of it you have the most incredible view of the city. Sightseeing in Paris was like plunging into ancient history. You can spend days in the Musee du Louvre viewing sculptures, paintings, jewellery, furniture and so much more, from the 16th,17th and 19th centuries. We looked for what seemed like hours and only scratched the surface.I must say I was a little disappointed when I saw the 'Mona Lisa', I had always thought it to be this really large painting and it was maybe an 11x14 painting!I really enjoyed seeing Paris at night with all the lights and even though it was so very cold I throughly enjoyed walking around the city.Especially our long walk down the world famous avenue, the Avenue des Champs-Elysees.Boy was I tired after that walk!! Would I do it again..in a heartbeat! It was awesome and I was very pleased with myself for being able to do it,as well as climbing all the stairs everywhere we went.Don't get me wrong it was a struggle at times to keep going, but I refused to give up or give into the pain in my feet. This was a once in a life time event for me and no minor pain was going to cause me to miss any of it.

Time in Le Mans...

After our time in Strosburg, we took the train to Le Mans, where Zac is currently living. His apartment was nice and although small, very comfortable and homey. It's in
a building where at this time he is the only tentant. We spent Christmas Day at
the apartment where Zac cooked our Christamas dinner, which I have to say was the best meal I had during the whole trip.He made us hobo dinners with chicken, potatos,
and carrots. My son has become quite a good cook and I'm very impressed with his
kitchen talents. The apartment is across the street from a bakery where Zac picked us up some pastries. My favorite part of Le Mans was old town, with the narrow, rock streets which we walked the second day there when Zac gave me a tour.We rode the bus out to the university where he teaches and then to the grocery store where he shops. My last night in Le Mans we walked to old town and watched the light show on the front of the cathedral. It was quite something to watch, the front of the cathedral would change colors as angels playing different musical instruments would float down each side of the front.I enjoyed seeing the town and meeting his friend Emily, when she dropped by one night, but I have to say I also enjoyed just sitting in the apartment and watching the dvd's of the show 'Coupling' and having a few laughs to relax.

First Day in France..

Wow! What a wonderful trip and experience the nine December days in France were.
I had a great personal guide and interpreter,my son. Now I've never been one to care for flying, but I actually did ok on this trip. The flight over was a night flight and I would have slept , except for the unhappy baby who cried most of the flight. Needless to say I was eagerly looking forward to seeing my son, since it had been four months since he'd moved to France. When I first saw him at the airport my heart warmed and I'm sure I was smiling from ear to ear.We boarded the train and were on our way to Strasbourg. What a lovely city, from the rock streets to the Christmas markets and all the lights,it was all such a sight to see. It was so cold, everyone was all bundled up with heavy coats, scarfs, hats and gloves and drinking hot spiced wine.I believe it was in the 30s during the daytime and 20s/teens at night,or it felt like it anyway!
The hot spiced wine was very good or maybe it was just because it was so cold out.And the crepes were delicious,we had a ham & cheese and later a chocolate one for dessert,my favorite being the chocolate,of course. After the nearly ten hour plane ride and no sleep ,then walking the streets of Strosbourg,I slept like the dead that night!
