Walking...

I have been walking at work during my breaks and lunch for the last two weeks. The company is involved in the "Arkansas Fitness Challenge" and over two-hundred of us have entered to compete. So if you are in West Little Rock during the week days you will seeing people in their business attire wearing tennis shoes and walking. It's been really nice weather lately for walking and with the flowers ,trees and bushes blooming it's quite a pretty sight.Today we walked and held an umbrella in the soft mist of rain, but we didn't allow the rain to stop us.Will we continue to walk after the challenge? I can't speak for the others , but yes I will continue to walk, I throughly enjoy getting out in the fresh air and the exercise has done wonders for helping me sleep, plus I'm losing a few pounds as an extra incentive.

Daffodils And Motorcycles..

Yesterday we rode up to see the daffodils at Wye Mt., they were so pretty. The ride was awesome, it was in the 70's and a beautiful day.I had not ridden on the back of a motorcycle in many years, but enjoyed it throughly. There were hundreds of people there picking flowers, taking pictures of their children, spouses, friends and even pets among the flowers. After stopping there we decided to ride on up to Petit Jean Mt. and have lunch at the lodge, which was very good. We've all decided to plan some short weekend getaways on the bikes this spring and summer, to Eureka Springs and other places.I was given a borchure of Kimberling City,Mo. , while at the beauty shop . The girl cutting my hair ask if I had plans for the weekend and that got us to talking about motorcycle trips, since I told her of our plans for that Saturday.Come to find out she and her husband are cyclist too and she told me all about their trip to Kimberling. She said the place in the brochure caters to cyclist and are really nice people running it.So we are thinking about making it one of our weekend getaways eventually.I'm looking forward to this spring and riding the roads.........

Sad Day..

Today I attended the funeral of my favorite uncle, my mom's baby brother. Uncle Jewell was a very sweet, kind man who was loved by so very many people. He always had a smile and loved to tease you to get you to smile.Uncle Jewell and Aunt Doris dated two years before marrying and were married 43 years ,you could see the love they had for one another when you were around them.Uncle Jewell loved working with wood and he built many gifts for family and friends. He helped build the church where his service was held today, and he built the log house he and Aunt Doris lived in and where he died on Monday,March 5,2007 at the age of 67.He will be missed by all who knew him.

Smiles....

Did you know that, if you smile at every person you meet, 9 out of 10 will smile back?
I like the following article I read about smiles..
A smile costs nothing, but gives much.It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor, but that he can be made rich by it.A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the soul, and it is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone, until it is given away. Some people are to tired to give you a smile, give them one of yours,as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.....Author Unknown.
According to the Wikipedia Encyclopedia, smiling makes the brain produce endorphins which reduce physical and emotional pain and give a greater sense of well being. So that alone may be a good reason to smile...
